NYAB’s 110 kV power line construction project for Tervakoski Oy progresses
25.06.25NYAB’s 110 kV power line construction project for Tervakoski Oy’s paper mill is progressing according to plan. Tervakoski Oy is building a new 110 kV power line to replace the existing one, which has reached the end of its service life. The renewal will enable the mill to operate in a carbon-neutral manner and ensure its operational reliability well into the future.
The new power line runs from Fingrid’s Linnamäki substation to the Tervakoski paper mill in Janakkala, with a total length of approximately 6.4 kilometres and comprising 24 pylons. The contract includes the construction of the power line between Linnamäki and Tervakoski, as well as a backup connection between Niittumäki and Tervakoski. The final pylon was erected in January, and conductor stringing is currently underway – the final phase before completion.
“The project has progressed on schedule, and cooperation with NYAB has been smooth,” says Petri Malkamäki, Energy Manager at Tervakoski Oy.
“It has been a demanding and interesting project. Construction in a trafficked area and crossing a motorway always require meticulous preparation and planning. It has been a pleasure to work with Tervakoski Oy’s project team, and the work has proceeded according to plan,” says Tapio Marttila, NYAB’s Power Line Construction Manager.
The contract was signed at the beginning of 2024, and fieldwork began in August 2024. The project is scheduled for completion in autumn 2025.
