NYAB has signed an agreement with EPV Alueverkko Oy for the construction of a 110 kV power line between Brändskogen and Rajavuori. Design work will begin immediately, and the project is scheduled for completion by June 2027.

The power line, with a total length of 26.1 km, will span the municipalities of Laihia and Maalahti, as well as the cities of Närpiö and Kurikka.

“We are very grateful to EPV Alueverkko for their trust. It’s great to be implementing this project in the South Ostrobothnia region – the very area where NYAB’s power grid business in Finland began 3.5 years ago. We look forward to a strong collaboration with EPV. Together, let’s build a robust and sustainable power grid to meet future needs,” say Tapio Marttila, Construction Manager for Power Network Construction, and Antti Keskinen, Head of Power Network Construction at NYAB Finland.

“The new power line will significantly improve electricity transmission from coastal wind power and is an important part of EPV’s green transition initiatives. We are excited to begin working with NYAB and are pleased to welcome a skilled new partner to our projects. We thank NYAB for their competitive offer and smooth project initiation. We are confident that this good cooperation will continue throughout the upcoming phases,” says EPV Alueverkko’s Joni Salmenautio
