The construction work for Mikonkeidas wind farm in Kristiinankaupunki has been started. During 2023, the construction will focus on building the infrastructure of the wind farm and the foundations of the power plants. The erection of the wind turbines will start in 2024, and the entire park is supposed to be in commercial use in 2025.
Mikonkeidas will consist of 16 power plants in total. The turbines of the wind power plant are placed at a height of 145 meters to ensure the best possible wind conditions, so the total height of the power plants is 230 meters. The park’s total output of more than 105 megawatts provides energy for more than 75,000 households.
NYAB shall supply the wind farm’s roads, lifting areas, foundations, internal grid, substation and transmission line construction to Energiequelle. In practice, this means that NYAB is responsible for everything in the construction of the wind farm, except for the erection of wind turbines.
“NYAB will deliver the Mikonkeidas wind farm to us as a turnkey project. NYAB’s ability to carry out a project according to the client’s values impressed us in our previous project, and the Mikonkeidas wind farm is a great way to continue our cooperation”, says Raine Kyrö, Head of Construction at Energiequelle.
