Olli Tiiro began his career at NYAB in 2018 through an internship opportunity. A recommendation from an acquaintance led him to the company, and he has never looked back.

“When I was looking for an internship, a friend who worked at NYAB suggested I should join the company. And here I still am,” Olli says.

Today, Olli works as a Site Manager on two projects: bridge maintenance and repair works across the North Ostrobothnia and Kainuu regions, as well as the PSU 2026 bridge project. In addition to his site management responsibilities, his role also includes tender calculation and cost estimation.

What Olli enjoys most about his work is the opportunity to take on new challenges and continuously develop his expertise.

“The most interesting part of the job is that there’s always something new to learn and opportunities to challenge yourself in different projects,” he says.

For Olli, the true value of his work comes from delivering successful results and receiving positive feedback from clients.

“Receiving thanks from a client is always rewarding. It’s great to see that high-quality work is noticed and appreciated.”

At NYAB, Olli particularly values the people and the open, straightforward working culture. In his view, strong collaboration makes everyday work smoother and creates the foundation for successful projects.

“We have a positive and open working atmosphere, which makes it easy and enjoyable to work together. It’s important that challenges can be solved as a team and that support is always available when needed,” Olli says.

Olli is originally from Ii in North Ostrobothnia of Finland. Outside work, he enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. He is often accompanied by Hugo, his five-year-old Golden Retriever.

“I enjoy being out in nature and participating in different sports, whether actively myself or as a spectator. I also spend a fair amount of time playing darts,” Olli says.
