Meet Patrick Kraft – Site Manager at NYAB
22.02.24Patrick Kraft is one of our site managers, and he has worked at NYAB Mälardalen since the start four years ago. He has worked his way up from various roles to become a site manager.
“The best part has been to build up the business here. That joy still drives me forward, as we continue to grow and break into new areas.”
Hi Patrick, can you tell us about your career journey to become a site manager?
I have worked in the construction industry all my professional life and have had time to try most things. I started as a construction worker and eventually took on the supervisor role. Becoming a site manager at NYAB felt natural as I had gained a lot of experience during my many years on various projects, which is crucial in this role.
What does it mean to be a site manager?
As a site manager, I am responsible for the work being carried out at our construction sites. This means, among other things, that I work with planning, implementation, finance, personnel, and our work environment. Since I work in production, there is always something in motion, which means that I need to be flexible and solution-oriented to be able to adapt the project to new conditions. I enjoy taking on a leadership role where I drive the projects forward and further develop our customer relationships.
What motivates you at work?
I’m most motivated by the variety that the job offers me. Every project is unique, and for me, it is satisfying to be involved in creating something that improves society and can last for a long time. I am currently running a project for a new traffic roundabout, pedestrian, and cycle path in Nynäshamn that will improve Road 73. It’s a long-awaited project in the municipality, and it’s great to be up and running.
Finally, what is the best thing about working at NYAB?
I appreciate how NYAB prioritizes its staff and creates development opportunities for each of us. I am an example of this, as I was immediately entrusted with a new role when I first started here. If you like taking on a lot of personal responsibility while working with other committed people, you will enjoy working at NYAB!
