18.02.26

NYAB Finland Oy has signed a project management contract with Compute Nordic Finland Oy for the development of a largescale data center in Mikkeli, Finland.

The planning and design phase of the assignment will commence immediately, during which the project’s construction schedule will be finalized. If construction work is commissioned, earthworks are expected to begin in March 2026.

The value of the assignment will be determined following completion of the planning and design phase. Any construction work are commissioned through separate client orders under the contract. The scope will be confirmed stepwise through the client’s ordering process and, depending on the extent of such orders, the total value of construction work under the contract could amount to approximately EUR 100 million.

The full scope of the project, including the planning and design phase and the construction phase, is expected to comprise site and infrastructure works, two 100 MW data halls, supporting utility structures, as well as associated highvoltage connections and substation works.

“This project is an important strategic step for NYAB as we continue to grow in advanced industrial developments. The data center segment is expanding, and we are proud to support Compute Nordic in delivering a modern and reliable facility in Mikkeli,” says Petri Kotkansalo, CEO of NYAB Finland.

“We are very excited to have agreed a contract with NYAB to progress our large-scale data center project in Mikkeli. We are looking forward to the collaboration,” says Harald Riise, CEO, Compute Nordic Finland

The Mikkeli data center project comprises the development of a large-scale facility with associated civil works, buildings and power infrastructure, intended to support long-term data center operations in the region.
