NYAB signs contract to rebuild E4 between Gumboda and Grimsmark – contract value SEK 409 million
23.04.25NYAB has signed an agreement with the Swedish Transport Administration for the reconstruction and widening of the E4 section between Gumboda and Grimsmark in Västerbotten County, Sweden. Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2025, with completion expected in October 2027. The contract is valued at SEK 409 million.
The project covers a 15-kilometer stretch of the E4, which will be rebuilt into a 2+1 road with a central barrier to enhance safety and improve traffic flow. The reconstruction also includes the construction of five bridges along the route. Once completed, the new 2+1 road will have a width of 14 meters.
“Västerbotten is an expansive region, and a safe and efficient infrastructure is important for residents, businesses, and industries across northern Sweden. We have strong experience from similar complex projects on heavily trafficked roads where traffic must continue to flow safely during construction. We are well prepared for the task. We also have an established and positive relationship with the Swedish Transport Administration and look forward to continuing to deliver safety and quality through cost-efficient production,” says Mattias Broström, Business Area Manager Infrastructure at NYAB.
