Welcome Anel Bajramovic, new Work Manager
13.02.25“The railway is the common thread in my professional life. Initially, I didn’t know much about trains and railways, but I have always been interested in technology, business, and project management. I stumbled into the industry by chance, became fascinated by it, and remained loyal to it. I have worked with many of the major stakeholders in Sweden, which has been very valuable, brought many exciting projects, and given me broad experience in different areas.”
The future of trains and railways
“Trains and railways are not new, but they are still an industry with enormous potential for the future. When you travel by train, you arrive directly in the city center, which is convenient and time-efficient. Freight transport by rail is an environmentally friendly, sustainable alternative because trains are often powered by electricity and can carry large volumes. This makes rail transport a much greener mode of transport with significantly lower carbon emissions.”
Maintenance backlog
“We have a huge maintenance backlog to catch up on regarding the railway network in Sweden. The industry faces significant investments for many years to come, so there is much to do, great opportunities, and exciting challenges to tackle. I feel fortunate to continue being part of this journey.
In my role, I look forward to building on NYAB’s very interesting railway initiative. It will be exciting to continue upgrading Sweden’s railway network now on the contractor side. I want to further develop our offering to customers so that together we can contribute to a better society through the necessary refurbishment and development of the railway infrastructure.”
