NYAB is a specialised contractor of infrastructure and energy projects that enable the progress of society for future generations with extensive experience from complex and challenging projects. NYAB provides end-to-end services of engineering, construction and maintenance within infrastructure, industrial construction and energy, and therefore contributes to the green transition within both the private and public sector.
NYAB’s business operations focus on three growth markets: energy, infrastructure, and industrial construction. NYAB has a strong position in the northern regions of Sweden and Finland, where it foresees significant investments in projects that reduce the carbon footprint. NYAB also has a strong position in the Stockholm and Mälardalen area, where accelerating urbanisation is increasing the need for sustainable infrastructure. NYAB strives for profitable growth and sees excellent growth opportunities in all business areas. In January 2025 it expanded to Norway and other regions globally by acquiring businesses from Dovre Group.
Energy
NYAB’s focus is on implementing energy projects in cooperation with industrial and public bodies. The main focus within energy projects is on power network and substation construction and implementing wind and solar power projects in cooperation with the industry and public sector to increase power supply and transmission capacity.
Infrastructure
NYAB has extensive experience in a vast number of challenging infrastructure projects that includes among others working with groundworks, foundations, marine, water and sewage systems, airports, fiberworks, and fencing. NYAB oversees all aspects of these projects, whether on land or near water, and also offers repair and enhancement services for existing transportation routes. With extensive experience NYAB has also earned a reputation for efficiently managing complex projects that require continuous traffic flow during construction.
Industrial
NYAB leverages its extensive expertise and a proactive approach to decision-making to successfully deliver specialised industrial construction projects. NYAB tailors each facility to meet the specific requirements of its clients, who include production and logistics firms, manufacturing workshops, and operators in the paper and mining industries. NYAB is also recognised for its ability to handle complex construction projects, such as biopower and thermal power stations, industrial halls, and production facilities.
Consulting and Project Personnel
In January 2025, NYAB acquired Dovre Group’s businesses within Norwegian Consulting and Global Project Personnel. The Consulting business in Norway offers project management expertise for the development and implementation of large investment projects primarily in the public sector such as within transportation, construction and energy. The Project Personnel business provides project professionals through e.g. staff leasing and manpower solutions for large-scale investment projects primarily in the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. In addition to Norway, the Project Personnel business has operations in Asia-Pacific, North America and the Middle East.
Project development
NYAB holds 24 percent stake in a joint venture established with the CapMan Nordic Infrastructure II fund, under which Skarta Energy Oy operates. Skarta Energy has a rapidly expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects, with a primary focus on solar energy, complemented by wind power. Among its major initiatives is the development of one of Finland’s largest solar power projects in Utajärvi, in which NYAB is the contractor. This solar farm, being constructed on disused peat bog areas, is a key part of Skarta Energy’s goal to build 800 MW of solar capacity by the end of 2028.
